Nice, comprehensive rundown of the matter, Bob. But just for the record: this whole kerfuffle about the bc is a moot point, in actuality. He has already 'confessed' that he is not a 'natural born' citizen, by claiming that his father was a Kenyan national. He was toast, right there. The definition of a 'natural born citizen':
"The natives, or natural born citizens, are those born in the country, of parents who are citizens..." It's from the definitive tome of the day of the constitutional Framers on such matters, E. de Vattel's 'The Law of Nations, Or Principles of Natural Law'. And that eligibility requirement for that particular office STILL STANDS, absent a constitutional amendment to the contrary.
The Republican honchos have failed to act on this historical fact because they wanted to run their OWN candidates through that breach in the wall of the Constitution on this issue - as subsequently evidenced in the candidacies this time around of Cruz, Rubio, and Jindal: not a nbc among them. And there is proof that both major political parties KNEW the truth in this matter, by the fact that between them, between 2003 and '08 alone, they tried a total of 8 times to get an amendment starting through Congress to water down this strict requirement (proposals all of which had this matter as their common denominator) - and they failed each time even to get their proposals out of committee, such was the sensitivity around this issue.
Trump needs to 'drain the swamp' for far more reason than he has alluded to so far. For the sake of the rule of law in this country - its Constitution, to be anything other than a dead letter. Or we are being ruled rather by the rule of men. Aka arbitrary law. Aka tyranny.
I find it impossible to believe that a married U.S citizen couple, on a cruise ship, afloat in the middle of the ocean, and the wife gives birth there. That child is NOT a U.S. citizen, I don't believe that. Is that child then considered to be a citizen of the ocean? How about a U.S. citizen woman, in the military, married to a U.S. citizen, and she is serving over seas when she gives birth. Same questions as above. How about a U.S. citizen couple on vacation abroad, and the woman gives birth??? Of what country are these babies considered a citizen and why? Why would they not be U.S. citizens? Irv.

- Being born 'on the soil' has been construed to mean as well if born offshore while the parents were on official government business, as in a diplomatic mission or at a military post. Other such factors, such as being born "in the middle of the ocean," I don't know the specifics of, regarding the difference between being a nbc and simply a citizen. I DO know that Cruz tried to use the Naturalization Act of 1790, which covered some of these points, as a rationale for claiming nbc citizenship - but failed to let the public know that that Act, which was misleading in its use of the nbc term, was repealed OVER THIS VERY ISSUE by the Naturalization Act of 1795 - which both J. Madison, as a Congressman at the time, and G. Washington, as President, signed off on. In any event, the salient point, in being considered to be born 'natural born,' is the citizenship of the parents. Both parents. Which is PARTICULARLY what makes it 'natural,' for heaven's sake. NO DUAL OR OTHERWISE CONFLICTING LOYALTIES OR ALLEGIANCES OR INFLUENCES. Born with SOLE ALLEGIANCE, to the U.S., in this case.
Which the Usurper has certainly proven, and in spades, that he does not have.

But when justice catches up with the Usurper, all the legislation that he signed into law, and all the E.O.'s and P.D.'s that he issued, and all the appointments that he made - including to the SCOTUS, and lesser courts - go with him, into the trash bin. It is to be as if he were never there. For he has never been there legally.
All it takes is for the American people - through their oath keepers; with patriots having their backs - to rise to the occasion. Which is quite the occasion. But then, I am of the opinion that it is why we have incarnated at this time. We, who want to see Justice done, in this extremely important regard. To get this nation back on track. As the flagship of the fleet of nation-states to sail this planet's peoples into a New World.
Enough of this corrupt crap. It's time for a cleansing. On all levels.
