Jesus Was A Character
Jesus was a character
In a work of fiction,
designed
For a two-fold purpose:
on the one hand
To save the skins
Of some priestly line
Of Jews (among them
and principally
a man by the name
of Josephus,
who became
a character
in his own Play
named Paul)
And who thereby lived
to fight another day
And on the other hand
to elevate
the Roman general
named Titus
to the level
Of the ‘Son of Man’
Of Jewish prophecy;
all designed
to further
human
ambitions,
not
that
of God
For His creation.
(But that's
free will
free will
for you.)
Jesus
Being, then, merely
a concocted
combination
Of other god-men
of the day.
A sad
and most aggravating
and most aggravating
story.
But true.
And Truth
is what we must
always
aim for.
For without that
as our star
to guide by
on our Journey
back
Home
there is only
falsehood.
And that
is not enough
to live by
and for.
So, take heart,
everyone.
There is more
to come
on
the morrow
after
the sorrow
and the lesson
about
not
Putting all your eggs
in one
Easter
basket.
