(Letter To the Editor, The New American)

March 22, 2015

Dear Sir:

A comment on your Inside Track article, in the March 23 issue, titled 'Paul Wins Again, Walker Finishes Strong Second, in CPAC Straw Poll' ("Texas Senator Ted Cruz finished in third place...").

Can I at least get TNA to listen to reason on the Ted Cruz eligibility issue?  If not you, who, among Constitutionalists??

It's not rocket science.  The whole point of the exercise on the part of the Framers in putting that particular, "natural born citizen" eligibility requirement in their constitutional contract for that particular office - and that particular office only - was so that the candidate, if elected - who would then as well become the Commander in Chief of the nation's military forces; a not incidental factor in this whole matter - would have no DUAL/CONFLICTING LOYALTIES OR ALLEGIANCES.  As a naturalized citizen would be subject to.  And as a DUAL citizen would be subject to.  Like Obama.  And like Cruz.  The bottom line: Two wrongs do NOT make a right.

To drive this take on the NBC matter home, there is the likes of the letter by John Jay, a statesman of the time (who, again not so incidentally, ended up becoming the first Chief Justice of the new U.S. Supreme Court, such was the respect for his opinion on weighty political matters), to G. Washington, in his role as Chair of the Constitutional Convention proceedings, recommending this very thing; to wit:

"Permit me to hint whether it would not be wise and seasonable [sic?] to provide a strong check to the admission of foreigners into the administration of our national government; and to declare expressly that the Commander in Chief of the American army shall not be given to, nor devolve on, any but a natural born citizen."  And to drive the point home even further, there is the historical fact that Alexander Hamilton proposed, as a delegate to the Convention, that the president need only be a "citizen" - and his proposal was specifically TURNED DOWN by the Framers.

They were clearly going by the definition as legally formalized by E. de Vattel in his definitive tome, 'The Law of Nations,' which the Framers were known to be vary familiar with, and especially their elder and respected mentor, Benjamin Franklin, sitting right there amongst them, as a delegate to the proceedings.  If they didn't know what they were voting on, all they had to do was ask him.  (Some obots have argued that they were going by English common law on the matter; but that talks about natural born SUBJECTS - which this collection of newly freed statesmen, sovereigns in their own right, certainly did not think of themselves as.  They were CLEARLY going by American common law/Natural Law in the matter.)

All of this business about subsequent court cases is shadow boxing.  Nothing trumps original intent, unless it is a clear amendment to the constitutional contract; and especially on such a substantive issue as the one about the eligibility requirements for the office of the presidency.  Which "one about" has become a joke, when the Republican party honchos fudged on the matter, failed to challenge the Democrat Party candidate in 2008 on the issue.  All of our subsequent headaches about an 'imperial presidency' stem from that criminal oversight; and the Democrat Party is not the only political party that needs to be taken to court, once the American People wake up to the hijack going on of their federal constitutional Republic, and get us back on track, as self-governing sovereigns in our own right.  Not as subjects to an overweening state, be it of Royal or Church or oligarchy or outright 'I am the law' tyrant.

Can we count on TNA for specific help with this extremely important matter?

Sincerely,

Duane 'Stan' Stanfield

The Truth will out.  It's only a matter of time.  Will The New American magazine help that happenstance to occur, by standing fast with the Constitution in this matter?  Or will it sell out to fashion, like so many others, of "even the very elect," who have failed, or are failing, in this test??

It's beginning to look as though more and more souls are going to fail the grade, and not move up, in the Ascension process going on.

But we'll see.  In each case.

And you, Citizen?

Where are you, in this process??  In this specific aspect of it.  And in the process as a whole???

As I say:

Time will tell.

And we are running out of time, to tell.
