History 101

Gong along with the theme that I closed my last blog with, I received a mailing today from the Young America's Foundation - a supporter particularly of the Ronald Reagan presidency - which said, in part, that:

"...studies have shown that only one in four American young people recognize President George Washington's portrait on the dollar bill.

"Surprised?  You shouldn't be.

"Every President's Day [coming up on Monday], patriotic Americans remember George Washington and celebrate his courageous leadership in uniting a free nation.

"But instead of teaching students to revere George Washington and other Founding Fathers, leftist school officials have been stripping their names out of textbooks and from elementary and high schools across our nation for the past decade.

"Why?

"Because leftist lawmakers and school administrators think that George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and other Founding Fathers are a disgrace to our nation.

"They attack these courageous Founders as 'racist' and 'sexist' and call them 'slave holders.'..."

Other than being men of their times, AND much more - what does any of that have to do with their having created a free country?

' Yeah - free to have slaves.'

'And free to give you freedom from governmental oppression, and the highest general standard of living that the world has ever known.'

'Yeah - and the greatest trashing of the environment that the world has ever known, too.'

'If you hate it so much, why don't you leave?'

'And why don't you get out of the way of change, old white man, part of the problem.'

'Right.  Change into an economic basketcase, like all the other Third World nations, that have to be bailed out by this country's citizens' tax dollars.'

'Right.  You and your ill-gotten gains, on the backs of people of color.  It's time for something new, old man.'

'New!  Government oppression of its people is as old as the hills.'

' Only oppression of you lot, who deserve it, turn about being fair play, and all.'

'I notice that you are white.'

'And I'm ashamed of it, for what we have done to the world.'

'Done!  We have done magnificent things 'to' the world.  In art, literature, music, physics ...'

'And oppression.'

And so the argument rages...

I'll cut to the chase here.

Number one.  The Founding Fathers of this nation were, indeed, men of their times.  And, far beyond their time, in their vision, of and for a New World, free from the old controls, of church or monarch or state.  Free to be men, and women, standing in their own sovereignty - as children of a higher God than that of either Monarch or State OR Church.  Free to worship as they pleased.  And free to explore the likes of "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness".

Without my going into the excesses of liberty - of which there have been many in this country - I'll cut to the bottom line.  Which is that our youth have been and are being manipulated, in their youthful idealism, by experts in the trade of propaganda, and illusion.  The real PTB behind the scenes of all this revolutionary spirit going on don't give a hoot about 'people of color,' or 'the environment'.  That's all for propagandic, end-justifies-the-means purposes.  What they want is their New World Order of power.  Naked, ruthless power.   Power Over others.  As opposed to Power With, recognizing that, in our essence, We Are All One.

Welcome to the real world, sonny goy.
