I respect both men and their view points, however, Mr. Sowell may be correct about Senator Cruz and his own personal gain. Senator Cruz is hinting about a possible run for President in 2016: Based upon the information I have heard about Senator Cruz parents, Senator Cruz may not be eligible to run for President in 2016, because he does not appear to meet the 'Natural Born Citizen' requirement. To become the President, you must meet this requirement, yet he has not been open about resolving this question to the people, just like Senator Rubio.

Robert, it is is clear that Sen. Cruz is not eligible to run for the presidency, because, at a minimum, he did not have two U.S. citizen parents at his birth; thus, he was born a dual citizen, and therefore ineligible for that particular federal office -and that particular federal office ONLY.
(The NBC requirement for that office was put in the Constitution for good reason: in particular, because that person would as well be the Commander in Chief of the nation's military forces, and the constitutional Framers did not want anybody in that position with CONFLICTING LOYALTIES OR ALLEGIANCES.)
Obama thus was ineligible for that office from the git-go - and Sen. Cruz's ineligibility for the same reason can serve a noble cause and purpose: to highlight that crime on the part of Obama, and the Democrat Party (and the Republican Party as well, for being a collusive party to the crime); and thus cause Obama to be removed from the office forthwith. Before he causes any more damage to the Republic and the Constitution/rule of law than he already has - and creates an excuse to declare Martial Law, and thus totally shred the Constitution (not just piece by piece, as he is doing now). The Republic is in grave danger with him in that position of power, because of the revolutionary intentions of him and his far-left cohorts. He must be removed. Pronto.
We need to keep Mr Cruz in check, but he is doing good for the party. We need to make sure he does not get a big head and coach and mentor him. Make sure he does not get to big for his own britches. We can find fault in everyone, including myself. So while we need to hold people accountable, we need to make sure we do not eliminate everyone who comes on board. As Republicans - conservatives, we need to continue to focus on our goals. That is to get the current regime out. All RINO incumbents out, and Republicans who are really no fiscally conservative. We need to keep the House and take over the Senate, using 2014 to gain control and 2016 to clean out individuals that will not keep a conservative fiscal posture. Stay focused and stay strong. Stay current and learn about all of our representatives. And the ones who need to go discuss this with friends, neighbors, relatives, and associates. This does not need to be complicated, we have social media to express these ideas and communicate. All of these donation requests are a waste. To waste all of this money campaigning is ridiculous. People need to know the truth, they do not need to watch the propaganda in all of these ads. That is why in 2014 social media with friend, family, neighbors, and associates need to be the keep. You need to voice your opinions to people who respect you and trust you. Spending money that most people do not have is flat our wrong. The gather together, use social media to change the outlay of our US government structure. Lets show this National that we can take our country back and we do not spend billions of dollar to accomplish this. Email, social media, twitter, etc... We need to focus on our primary goals. I am not a republican, I am a conservative. But lets face it, we need to use the republican party to get the job done! They are the resource that we ave available. So do not get hung up on this. We need to gain control of the House and the Senate, this is the only way to make this happen. We the people can make this happen. Do not worry about the RINO's in the primary elections we need to weed them out. We have time now to identify them make a list and target by State the ones that need to be eliminated. This can not happen in one fail swoop. This will take 2014, 2016, and maybe 2018 to accomplish this. Set your goals and stay focused. Are you in with me on this???

All except staying with the Republican Party, Bob. The change needed is more 'revolutionary' than that - to match the revolutionary state that we're in, with the Democrat Party under Obama and his far-left clique trying to foist socialism on the nation, for it ultimately to become merely part of the statist New World Order planned for us by the Glitterati.
Consider The Democrat Party honchos colluded with their Republican Party counterparts to bypass the Constitution and nominate a constitutionally ineligible candidate for the presidency in 2008, and continued to collude with their Republican cohorts in crime in the 2012 election. Thus, they both have to go, and face criminal charges, along with Obama. That leaves the way open for a reordering of the political scene in the country - and closer to where The People are anyway.
Thus, the place to be is strictly with one's political, economic and moral principles - NOT with the jaded and compromised political parties of the recent past.
It's time for a revolution, alright. But a spiritual revolution. For, we are heading for something far, far more than merely 'more of the same'. It's time to clear the decks for that change - to put Honor and Integrity in the commanding seat of power.
