Know Your Enemy

from truedaily.news: ’Trey Gowdy’s Shocking Statement After Paul Ryan’s Announcement’ - True Daily Staff - April 11
(On the occasion of Paul Ryan announcing that he won’t be seeking re-election at the end of his term, Trey Gowdy has pointed out that “You do not have to be a member of the House to be Speaker of the House”.  What??  Oh - it’s a lawyer’s parsing of words: the Constitution says that “The House of Representatives shall chuse their Speaker and other Officers…”
I found that observation rather, shall we say, interesting.  My comment to the article:)

“Interesting nitpicking here.  Couldn't one legitimately assume that the intention was for them to pick someone among THEM as their Speaker??  But talking about straining at a gnat and swallowing a camel: How in the name of heaven did the Congress fail to call BHO and the Democrat Party on a CLEAR requirement of the Constitution, and breach thereof??

“I refer to the eligibility requirement for the office of the president - that's of the United States, you understand - that said person needs to be a "natural born" citizen; not just any kind of citizen.  Now, what could they have been referring to, in that regard?  Well, that's an easy question to answer: All one has to do is check the historical record for the understanding of the constitutional Framers of the definition of that term.  And there it is, clear as day: A 'natural born' citizen is a person, quote, "born in the country, of parents who are citizens" thereof.  So that the person so designated has NO DUAL OR OTHERWISE CONFLICTING LOYALTIES OR ALLEGIANCES OR INFLUENCES.  Has SOLE ALLEGIANCE to the person's country of origin.  Rather fitting, for an eligibility requirement for the office of the presidency of the United States, wouldn't you say?

“Yet here we are, being invited to consider the specifics of something somewhat ambiguous in the Constitution...Go figure.”

I didn’t head this comment with my, or a, name, because what happened when I clicked to post it was that the following notice came up:

“Blocked as suspected bot.”

What??!

And this from a conservative site…

As I say:

Go figure.

P.S. The quote regarding the definition of the term, a ’natural born’ citizen, is from - as veteran readers of my blog will know, some by heart, by now - the definitive tome of the day of the constitutional Framers on such nation-building matters, E. de Vattel’s ‘The Law of Nations’ (Book One, Ch. XIX, Sect. 212).  With numerous historical references attesting to their understanding of this definition of the term.
The ‘question’ over this definition in our time seems to be based on the idea that there has been a change in the definition over the years.  I won’t go into all that discussion, because it is a shell game, irrelevant to the issue at hand.  Which is that the eligibility requirement ITSELF still stands, absent a constitutional amendment to the contrary.
And we WILL get back to the rule of law in this country - its Constitution.  And thereby, set things to rights.  Before we leave the educational process behind.  And enter a - the - New Era.
     A - the - New World.
No longer engaged in The Play.  But inheriting
     the Real Thing.
     The individual being ready.
     Or not.
As I have also said many times before, in these pages:
     Your choice.
     To say
Your determination.  For yourself.  To be ready for said graduation.  Or not.
     For, in this real world,
you have to earn your way up.
     To graduation.
     For, your only ‘enemy,’ really

     is you.
