Don't Be Silly

Don't Be Silly

Don't be silly.
     You believe
All of this is
      by chance
Merely?
For nothing??
                Why
Would it exist
           at all
If it weren't for
     something
At least???
           If only
As a plaything
For - wait
         for it -
Gods?…
        another
        level
     of reality...
             a stretch
    of someone's
 or some thing's
   imagination…

          Get real.
     Something
Is going on
That we should
         find out
            about
        if we are
     intelligent
At all.

And we are
Obviously.  Or
We wouldn't
           think
Like this
       (or even
Be able to)
         about
Our experience.
                   We
      would just
Be

        like
  - oh, say -
            an ant
                 just
             doing
         Its thing
         without
       knowing
               why
                  or
      wherefor
        or even
   wondering
        about it
                 all
                  at
All…

   The planet
Is a raft
On a sea
That we
Are lost on
Endlessly
       and that
             is all
There is
Period?
          Don't be
          daft.
              It
        is all
             at
The very least
Periodic…

          Richard
Dawkins, you
Are a fool.
              Admit
                  to it.
       Or forever
                 hold
  your piece
Of the action
Of a greater
       Being
       than you
Currently
Are
At the very
Least.

           But wait.
There is more
To come
Obviously.
And therein lies -
From the equivalent
Of our leaden skies -
       the answer
                 to
The conundrum
That we have found
Ourselves in
At last,
And recognized it
            for what
                    it is
Fundamentally:
             a puzzle
             that we
Have figured out
           to a certain
                   extent
           at the very
           least.
           Coming
Around again
     for another
                 bite
At It:
          the apple
          of
Our I.
