Stranger In A Strange Land
'What's it like living back in America, Stan?'
'It's like living in a strange land. Take voting. Please.'
'I 'get' that by that, you are saying that it's a joke.'
'To some extent. Not a funny one.
'I refuse to have anything to do with it. It's a farce, a fake, a fraud, an illusion, a charade. A game. They let anybody vote. At least in my home state, if they sign up on a registration roll, it is never checked for legitimacy. Plus, the electronic voting machines are notoriously hacked and hackable, in a number of ways. Plus, they have the voting materials available in a number of languages, even though you have to learn how to read and write English to become a citizen. At least that is still holding.
'But it's all a gigantic scam. I won't have anything to do with it. Nor should any citizen; until it is cleaned up, top to bottom.'
'Anything you like about the place?'
'Going to the beach is nice. A shame the radiation from Fukushima is still poisoning everything in the water, though.
'I suppose it's all reversible.
'I certainly hope so.
'I would make that happen.
'But then, who am I.'
