With New Eyes To See

As a young boy
I was already
                struck
                by
  the notion
                 to
'Do, not
For the fruit
        but for
The sake.'

And also, in
That same vein,
                 by
The essential
    selfishness
Of the notion
                  to
'Do unto others
              as you
Would have them
                     do
Unto you.'
                  No, I
 remember
 thinking;
                 you
 should do
 unto others
   regardless
 of what they
                    do
 unto you.
                 For,
                 they
                 may
                    be
               under
          pressures
            that you
                 know
              nothing
                 about
                       to
           be able to
                behave
            in a good
                     way.
                     You
       see.

                      We
                    have
                  served
               our time
                         in
  the darkness
       relatively.
                       Our
  liberation
                          is
  near.
                 Harken
      to it.
                And be
      of good
      cheer.
