The Case

   Subtitled:
Born To Rule

In my first of two blogs that I posted yesterday, I happened to refer to a book entitled ‘Jesus, King of Edessa’.  It is a very interesting read, with relevance to our day.

The Story at large goes something like this; mostly according to consummate researcher Ralph Ellis, author of the above monumental work, with the ‘assist,’ in baseball parlance, of a few others, over the years and including in current time.  (The latter ’team’ including such eminent researchers as Kenneth Humphreys and D.M. Murdock; and ‘crowned’ by the ingenious research and reporting of Joseph Atwill, in his definitive work of sleuthing, ’Caesar’s Messiah: The Roman Conspiracy to invent Jesus’.)  I don’t have all the facts clearly ‘at hand in my mind’ right now; but essentially, for the summary purposes of this blog:

A Jewish general during the great Jewish Revolt against Roman rule during the mid part of what was the equivalent in our calendar of the first century of the Common (or Current) Era, by name of Josephus, having lost a battle was hiding in a cistern of a town in his region with some of his men, and, facing certain death (either at the hands of the eventually discovering Romans or potentially as he and his men were casting lots to kill each other rather than fall into the hands of their oppressors), hit on a scheme to save his hide: He came out of his ‘hiding’ and asked the Roman soldiers for him to be taken to Vespasian, the overall general of the Judean campaign.  That ‘audience’ went along the lines of Josephus a) telling Vespasian that he, Josephus, foretold that he, Vespasian, would become emperor - which was also ‘noised about’ on the rumor grapevine at the time anyway, and so was not that big a deal in and of itself; but then he followed with the clincher, with Josephus b) telling him that he could help make that ‘prophecy’ a reality by making Vespasian a rich man.  Which undoubtedly caught the great one’s attention, because he had no money, and thus no royal-pretensions clout other than being a good general, and that would help immensely to seal the deal.

The presenting deal hinged on the fact that Josephus was also a priest, of the priestly family line of the Jews, and as such had inside info as to where some of the treasures of the Temple had been secreted, from the possible plundering of it by the Romans from the increasing likelihood of the Revolt coming to nothing (which Josephus was convinced of, as having been utterly foolhardy in the first place; a factor with major repercussions in this story).  A deal was struck, which included Josephus, and ’a few of his friends’ in the priestly line (along with their family members; which in the event amounted to quite a number of Jews saved from the terrible outcome of the mismatched war), becoming adopted into the family household of Vespasian (called the Flavians); who in the event did become emperor.  And who Josephus served well as court historian.  Including concocting a fable that would desirably lead first the Jews and then the Gentiles alike of the Roman Empire to accept Vespasian and his sons as gods.  That fable becoming known to history as the New Testament to the Jewish Bible.  Josephus (with, undoubtedly, help from some well-educated others of the by-then imperial household) thereby hopefully getting the readers, and others of the subjects, to “Render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s,” and to obey the authority of the state over them.  The wily Josephus managing this by writing himself into his fable, as his alter ego, Saul-become-Paul.  (Josephus’s actual historical life experiences ‘curiously’ mirroring a number of those of his character, down to their both having been shipwrecked on the way to Rome, and being there at the very same time.)

What, apparently (according to Ellis’s meticulous research), Josephus did was to concoct his fable - of a pacifist Messiah, exhorting the Jews to obey the authority of the Roman emperor over them (his character’s public ministry ‘amazingly’ paralleling the ‘later’ military campaign of son Titus in Judea, leading to the ‘prophesied’ siege and sacking of Jerusalem and destruction of the temple there) - using an actual historical figure as a bit of a template for his lead character (who was in actuality a militant leader of the Revolt; and whom Josephus blamed for bringing the might of the Empire down on the heads of the Jews, and so must have gloated about cunningly using him in such a concocted fashion in his concocted ‘history’ of goings-on in Judea earlier in the generation):

a figure from the region east of Judea (more specifically, in what is now northern Syria), with links to the Jews (and specifically to the Temple) through his mother, who felt for the Jews groaning under the oppressive rule of the Roman emperor, which the at-first prince and then king Jesus (specifically, historically: King Izas-Manu VI) found abhorrent, being a (born) ruler of a different order.

Who ‘went out of his way’ - and literally - to defend them, in the fashion of the times.

And who was (indeed) crucified; but, presumably having ‘learned his lesson’ thereby, was taken down while still alive, and brought before Vespasian, then in Alexandria (while his elder son Titus - whom Josephus characterized in his concocted NT writings as the prophesied messianic Son of Man, portrayed therein as chastising the Jews for not bending the knee to the Roman might - prosecuted the war), who gave him a choice:

He could ‘serve’ the Roman ruler by claiming that he, Vespasian, had engaged in an act of healing, thus proving him to his subjects to be a god, in which case the rebel leader would be allowed to live, if in exile.  Or he would be dispatched forthwith.  So, over to you, impudent ’king’ Izas.

And the broken man agreed, with whatever self-reasoning, to the terms; and thereby was summarily banished, with some of his men, to the furtherest reaches of the Roman Empire, as far away from  potential trouble-making in Judea as possible:

Britain.  To a guarded enclosure located at what in our day is called Chester.  Where the whole situation was undoubtedly very curious to the locals, with this mysterious Special Person - rumored to be some sort of king - being kept alive, but under heavy guard, and never let out of the fortress-like enclosure.  (Ruins of which exist to this day.)  The whole thing happening with an astrological association with Arcturus, a prominent star near Ursa Major - the Great Bear.  Which the mysterious Person became identified with, in the passage of time, and local lore.  As Arthur.  The Once -

and potentially Future -

King.

For whatever all reasons, at one point during my (very modest) writing ‘career’ I had chosen for a pen name that of:

Arthur Mason.

The ‘Mason’ part of it I figured I knew as referring to the secret society, and thereby indicating a ‘deeper’ meaning to my writing.  The ‘Arthur’ part of it I wasn’t ever sure about as to its ‘deeper meaning,’ if any.  (To my mind I was combining ‘Art’ with ‘Mason’.  Both sides of my brain acting in concert.)

I understand it now.  For, I have begun to have intimations

of my deeper identity.

Having been mentally cloaked all this time, with the feeling of being in an ‘envelope,’ of being cut off from specific knowledge of a larger reality.

For a purpose.

To be unveiled.

At a proper time.

At

the right time.

For a once

and future

king.  To rule with

the Right Stuff

this time.

This

New Age

time.

Dedicated to The Most High.

Not to any mere mortals.

Or Humanity itself.  As ‘divine’ in and of itself only.

As the likes of humanists, and communists, and other statists, like to think.

Somehow, having been beguiled into thinking that Man will be ‘nice’ just on his own.  Without ultimate reason to be.  Ultimate point to his existence.

Or will be forced to be ‘nice’.  By the power of the state.

Ruling over him with an iron rod.

I’ve got a better idea.

Based on

Truth.

The Truth of the matter:

that Man is ‘a piece of the continent, a part of the main’

of a larger reality than himself.

And that there is Plan in and Purpose to his existence, beyond just in and for itself only.

Come.  Join me.

In taking

The Path.

Through

The Maze.

The testing Maze of life.

In order to prove Oneself.  In

The End.

Now, with a new Beginning at hand.
