On Checking One's Premises

An advertisement on a bus, sponsored by an atheist group:

‘You can be good without God.’

Well; yes.  You can be.  But there is no need to be.  No requirement to be.  There is no requirement to do anything, without a larger Purpose to life, beyond just in and for itself only.  Set fire to your cat, and gleefully watch it running around screeching in agony.  Drown your little brother in the bath tub, who is getting more attention than you.  Kill your parents for their money, and go on a spending spree with it.  Rape your baby, and then kill it and sell its organs for some nifty money to splurge on.  Whatever turns you on: Do it.  Have fun, with no thought for the consequences of your actions; since nothing really matters anyway.

And someone else has more money than you?  Steal it from them, of course.  And if you are really smart, you will get other likeminded, er, ‘souls’ to do it with you, as in voting it out of other people’s pockets into yours.  There, that’s a good way to spend your time; once you and your friends do away with ’God’.

P.S. What you may actually be thinking/feeling is to do away with the current concepts of ‘God’.  Which is another matter.  And which awareness may result in a different ’message’.  To yourself, and others.  As on buses, making their rounds in our communities.  Spouting their ill-thought-out propaganda.
