I remember, in my high school days, writing, for an English class exercise, an essay on War. I'm not sure what occasioned that subject for that exercise; it may have been - in the air - the Korean War, newly minted at the time. (Excuse me: 'Police Action', as the government called it, for some obscure, presumably international-relations-related, legalistic reason. But a rose by any other name...and its obverse.) I remember further how I opened it; with due regard for my vocabulary-building stage at the time, still experimenting with words: 'Down through the eternal ages, Man has been witness to one internecine carnage after another...", and how I sourly concluded it: " It [The impulse to war] has become a part of the nature of Man."
I wouldn't say 'it' quite that way, now, near the end of this life span. Yes, we have an animal part of our nature; and that part of us will, indeed, tend to cause us to fight for territory, or sustenance, or whatever rationale we put our minds to. But we also have another part; a part that connects us to 'the divine'. The realm beyond words, of description. The realm that just Is. And it is that realm, and that connection, that will save us from our present, major Crisis on planet Earth.
For it is a crisis of consciousness, in essence. To say, a lack of consciousness; of who we are, really. As sparks of 'the divine'; trying - in our multiple ways - to find our way home. To transcend the material realm, and reconnect with our inner Sun. Like the holotropic beings we are, in essence.
I remember, in university, in my Biology class (of my pre-medical studies), being very struck by the phenomenon, in the plant world, of what was/is called phototropism - the growth response of plants to the stimulus of light, producing a bending towards the light source. How it didn't matter in which direction the seed was planted in the soil; when it started its transformative process, it would unerringly head for the light. And we are holotropic beings, unerringly heading for our Source, in wholeness. Finding our way through the hologram which has been constructed to give us some resistance, to grow by. In a transformative process of our own.
But I get ahead of myself, a little.
I want to address the issue of war, and the causes of war. For beyond its origin in the animal part of our nature is the environmental element. To say: If the environment is sustainable, and nourishing, we will have no reason to war. The plant in us can just grow. Into its potential. So: how can we alter our environment, to further that outcome.
And now we come to the issue of what we call capitalism. Based on a concept called profit.
For that is all that it is: a concept. Not a law of nature, even of 'human nature'. Has it served humanity, to give us an incentive to produce things? Primarily out of self-interest? Indeed it has. Look at the thrust of western civilisation: basically built on harnessing the drive of self-interest. But I would submit that that is a rather primitive concept; one that can be outgrown as we increase our awareness, our consciousness, and start looking at life in a more holistic way. That is to say: considering the whole as well as the part; our personal part. And now that we are living in a day and age where the motivator of self-interest is throwing up its shadow - of the trashing of the environment, and such - it is, really, time to have a 'mid-course correction', in regards to the future of life on Earth. For the way we are going, we can blow it - the whole climb out of our primitive caves, into the light of a new day. A possible new day. If we release the training wheels that have gotten us here, to this Turning Point.
The training wheels of, one, profit, and two, money.
What may have been necessary to help us uncover our individual potential is now hindering us, and harming us. Example. Our over-reliance on fossil fuels as an energy source, and more. The capitalist system is largely built on oil. But it is proving to have a great detrimental side, in the polluting of the environment, and such. The latter including an incentive to war.
Gen. Smedley Butler wrote a book he entitled: 'War Is a Racket.' Man has gone to many wars over resources like oil. But oil can be superseded by 'higher' forms of energy. Like the radiant energy in the universe. But we can't get to that source, as long as we are locked in the old paradigm - the old mentality - of scarcity, and 'profit'. The elementary stage of our education and development as a species.
Consider a day when we travel around on magnetism, and what is called 'Zero Point Energy'. That day will come about when we grow up some more. Learn to live in greater harmony with each other, and our environment. And 'produce for use, not for profit', as the socialists call for. But without their reliance on a powerful state, to keep people in control; believing as they do only in a materialistic model of reality. That people need to be forced to do things, because of 'human nature'. That Man is but a short step from a Beast, and thus needs to be chained, and held in place by the power of the state.
I've got a better idea. I say that we trust that his better nature will come to the fore, if given the chance. His nature, of 'a spiritual being having a human experience'. Realising, that the universe has purpose, and that purpose is Good. And so Man will be motivated to give of his best, in loving gratitude to his loving Creator for life with meaning.
The proof is in the experiences of all the people who have had Near Death Experiences, and Out of Body Experiences, and Past Life experiences, and other experiences that have helped them understand that there is far more under heaven and earth than is dreamt of in the common philosophy. That our souls are exploring life, and growing from our experiences - gaining awareness. Raising consciousness; our own, and that of those around us, inspired by our examples. Heading back towards Oneness with the Divine. Leaving this realm behind - after giving it our best shot. And going Home, after the sojourn in the wilderness, that tests our mettle.
No more pharmaceutical companies creating drugs that have side effects that they then come up with other drugs to treat, because they're in business to make money. And gain power. And with their corporate allies, to try to take over the world, and make it safe for oligarchy. And so forth.
It is really time to put our childish things behind us, and grow up.

Headlines In the Non-News
Headline of an email I received today:

And therein lies a common denominator. With the bottom line being that our erstwhile Masters are ramping up their assault on the world's people, particularly in the weakening of the American people (with the UK not far behind), in order to pacify them into their New World Order, of ultimate people control.
What's this all about.
First things first.
(1) Huge numbers of U.S. Veterans are committing either suicide or homicide. I'll cut to the chase: They are loaded with vaccines. Not only can vaccines cause genetic damage; they can, and do, suppress the immune system, so that any number of illness and disease conditions follow in their wake. They can, and do, also cause depression. The mainstream medical profession knows this. What is the MMP's answer to that condition? The prescribing of antidepressants. Which can, and do, cause 'suicidal ideation'; also homicidal thoughts.
(2) Mike Adams, who calls himself The Health Ranger, commented today under the second headline above (at his NaturalNews website) about a couple of new initiatives of the Gates Foundation, which has funded research that has come up with (a) a technique of momentarily (for 6 months) sterilizing males by shooting ultrasounds at their scrotums, and (b) a new way to vaccinate the populace (with whatever), by dispersing nano-sized vaccines in spray form. Like, say, from airplanes...
(my comment to his article:)
"Ah yes, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. They have been pushing vaccination campaigns in Africa for yonks. They SAY it's for 'health' reasons. But, curious thing: Bill has been seen on a video talking to a learned audience about the dangers of overpopulation/the carrying capacity of the planet;* and then he slips seamlessly into talking about vaccines for the 3rd World. Excuse me? - Oh; I see. 'Health' can mean different things to different people. As in those people who some years ago mounted an anti-tetanus campaign in three 3rd World countries, particularly targeting young females, where the shots turned out to have an anti-fertility agent in them. Vaccination shots being a perfect mode for delivering such agents, to widespread cohorts; if that is what your intent is.

And Dr. Andrew Wakefield. Which brings us to
(3) This article, on a holistic health e-newsletter site, was occasioned by the reporter taking the Tube to work in London and seeing in the free newspaper - given out to 1.7 million commuters - a big ad extolling the "benefits" of vaccinations. The reporter went through some of the history of the flu vaccine caper, and so forth; but it also brings up - emphasized? - the current headlines in the News news about the striking off from the medical register in the UK this week of Dr. Andrew Wakefield, whose paper, published in The Lancet in 1998, kicked off the controversy over the safety, or not, of the MMR shot, in relation to some children diagnosed with autism who had intestinal damage, and many of whose parents claimed that their descent into this terrible dual condition - gut and brain - came in the wake of their receiving the MMR vaccine.
I won't go into that whole story here. Except to point out that Wakefield, also this week, has had published his version of the whole brouhaha (in a book titled, ironically, "Callous Disregard" - ironically, because that was what he was accused of, and is accusing his persecutors of); and in at least one radio interview of him that I heard, when asked what he thought was behind his persecution - essentially, why did he think the authorities were denying the dangers - said, cautiously, "I don't know if it's just incompetence, or not..." But in his book he tells it like it is: that the UK government (in bed with the drug companies) had indemnified the MMR manufacturer for any possible damage the vaccine may cause, in order to keep it coming. So that the parents, who were trying to sue the manufacturer, were kept from their pursuit of justice for at least one unobvious reason: so that they wouldn't find out that it would do no good to sue them; that they would in fact have to sue the government. And the government wasn't about to let that happen. Ergo, the whole sordid saga.
There's more to this story (The owner of The Sunday Times, the main public persecuting body, happening to sit on the board of directors of the vaccine manufacturer; etc. etc.). But my main point, and charge: Parents are having a hard time getting the medical authorities to admit that various suspect vaccines can cause such as autism, not just because of the financial liability they will be responsible for, but primarily because the Powers That Be need that modality to seed various adverse substances into the populace. For population control.
And why would the governments do it to their own troops (in reference to item 1)? The U.S. is the prime example, and answer: Because the PTB need to weaken, break down, the United States as an entity, in order to submerge it into their vaunted New World Order, as an obedient vassal, known as the North American Union (with a new currency: the amero, binding the NAU, of the former Mexico-U.S.-Canada, as one region of the NWO. And thus the parallel need to weaken the dollar, and thereby send the people into crisis mode, for the purpose of forcing into being a declaration of Martial Law, and the consequent elimination of the U.S. Constitution, which is the wafer-thin "damn piece of paper" standing between the U.S. as it is and the accomplishment of their goal). Need to weaken the populace so that they can't resist the takeover.
Happening as we speak.
And taking off in earnest, once they can start spraying the populace with their people-control ingredients.
Which technique has been trialed with the chemtrails over (at the least) America; and the inadequate response of the people to this threat to them.
Shades of Soylent Green...
Who ARE these people, behind all this?
Some of them are us.
Humans.
And some aren't, basically.
...But there are others who aren't us either who are willing to help us out of this mess.

Abuse of the U.S. Constitution: It's Impeachment Time - And More
I am aware of several particular straws in the wind. Consider:
* Several states, in alignment with the so-called 10th Amendment Movement, are legislating to claim the right for their citizens 'to keep and bear arms', which are not made or sold interstate, free from federal regulation/jurisdiction. The federal government is trying to thwart these actions by claiming that it has the constitutional right to regulate anything that "affects" or "has an effect on" or "impacts on" interstate commerce. I'm not sure where it gets that notion from, other than from its simple desire to have such power: the U.S. Constitution gives it the power simply "to regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States,..." Not "within" the States. Period. But of such attempts are slippery slopes made.
Note: This is part of the basic legal argument that has been going on in the U.S. for some time, between 'Federalists' and 'anti-Federalists' - between those who want a stronger central government, lording it over the states & making most socio-economic decisions in Washington, and those who want to keep the federal system of government that is the U.S. system, intact, whereby the federal government is one of limited and delegated powers - "few and defined", in the words of the Father of the Constitution, James Madison; has only those powers specifically ceded to it in & by the Constitution, all others being "reserved to the States respectively, or to the people" (the aforementioned 10th Amendment).
One power, and responsibility, delegated to it is named in Article IV, Sect. 4: "The United States shall guarantee to every State in the Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion..." Which leads to
* Several states are feeling they are being overwhelmed with illegal aliens, and are fretting that the US government is not doing enough about the matter; to the point- as with Arizona recently - that they are starting to consider state legislation to do something about it. Which is within their prerogative, given a fairly legitimate definition of what they are facing and incurring as 'invasion', and with that impact on the services they can afford, etc. But that's not the main point I wish to raise here on this matter. That is that the federal government, in the form of the head of the U.S. Immigration And Customs Enforcement agency (ICE) has threatened not to prosecute illegal aliens caught by the states. And that is raising this general issue, of the power balance between the states and the federal government in a federal system of government, to a serious state of alert.
As well, because
(a) the federal government is hoping that the courts will throw out the states' initiatives, on whatever technicalities they can come up with - including that they don't have 'standing' (which highlights another issue, covered below); and
(b) the specific issue is highlighting a larger one, having to do with a movement amongst revolutionary Mexicans called La Raza - 'The Race', whereby those so inclined are trying to create a state under Mexican control called Aztlan, consisting of a number of the U.S. states in the southwest, including California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, and parts of Texas.
And here the plot deepens.
Because we're talking about, as well, a movement amongst Establishment types - the Power Elite - to dismantle the Constitution, in order to absorb the - former - U.S. into the North American Union region of their proposed New World Order; and so they are happy to have the border issue - both the illegal alien issue and the Aztlan issue - begin to accomplish that dismantling, in order to further their own ends. And they would appear to be willing to let Obama help bring that whole scenario to a head, even though he is of the 'left', and they are of the 'right'. Why? Because the real Power Elite are behind both sides of the stage-front political process; the drama that keeps the public's attention away from who's behind the backstage curtain, directing things.
Consider. Obama's eligibility for the office of the U.S. president is highly suspect (and blatantly unmet, according to the historical and still-legal definition of a "natural born" citizen, which requires the presidential candidate to be born on the soil of parents - plural - who are citizens). His hiding of definitive information about his original, vault-copy birth certificate; his refusal to have his passport information or school records released; his strange Social Security card number background; etc. etc. Do 'you' REALLLY think he could have gotten away with all that if the Power Elite didn't want him in the position he is in, to deliver the U.S. to them in tatters, so that they could remold it into their desired one-world structure? Thus the various lawsuit attempts to bring his eligibility to a court of law, and thereby subject to 'disclosure', have been thwarted, under the technicality of the plaintiffs lacking 'standing'.
Who would have standing? Apparently, the U.S. Congress. The majority of whom are Democrats. And it was their leaders - particularly the Speaker of the House - who signed off on Obama's eligibility to be their party's candidate. Go figure.
What this is all amounting to is great Crisis. Which brings great Opportunity. Which is what the Power Elite are counting on. (Along with their collusion in the financial crisis, which has been orchestrated to and for their benefit - to pick up the pieces after the collapse at bargain prices, literally and so to speak.)
The answer? Since both the executive and the legislative branches of the federal government are culpable - and the Judicial branch has failed to allow justice to be served, so it is compromised as well - The People need to let - demand - an administrator take over the federal government who will (a) honor the federal system, and return it to its true constitutional structure; (b) depose the usurper president (and his court of czars); (c) clean out all departments of the Executive branch, including the placemen of the corporate realm (who have been turning the U.S. government into a form of fascism); (d) dissolve Congress; and (e) call for elections within a time set (say 3 to 6 months). He desirably would also dissolve the central bank/Federal Reserve, and institute a cleanout of the financial system. So that the world is not held hostage to criminal types.
There is another form of 'economics' needed now to be ushered in anyway. One that does not hold people to be chattel, and does not destroy the environment in its mindless pursuit of 'growth' . But first things first.
How to bring 'first things first' about, practically?
Practically, by trusting in Spirit to help inform the process. 'The process':
Obama should level with the American people about his background, in his words, before an official inquiry takes place. And talking about official inquiries, and this cleansing in general of the federal Augean stables:
The public health authorities should share with the public what they know, and when they knew it, about such subjects as the downsides of Fluoridation and vaccines; the Bush administration should share, in their words, what they knew about 9/11 and when they knew it. Likewise the Mossad, and the Israeli government. Likewise the Maurice Strong/George Soros/Al Gore et al 'camp'. There should, in short, be a general purging, by people who need a purging, before Truth and Reconciliation commissions take over, and 'require'/are mandated the space for the truth to be told.
And if the former obviates the need for the latter, so be it. And so good.
Because it's time. It's time for truthtelling, and a Going Up in consciousness across the board. Leaving the basic drama behind, and entering a new phase of life on Earth. One more in alignment with the consciousness of the Creator.
And if you don't believe in such a Being, well, Have We got news for You. Basically, that You and We are One.
Let's stop pretending otherwise. We have other fish to fry, now. So to speak. Perhaps a better way to put it: We have another, higher space to occupy, now. In our consciousness. Where we are closer to the Divine. To our divine natures. As 'spiritual beings having a human experience'. To learn lessons - giving and receiving; now teacher, now pupil.
And then move on.

The federal government is trying to thwart these actions by claiming that it has the constitutional right to regulate anything that "affects" or "has an effect on" or "impacts on" interstate commerce. I'm not sure where it gets that notion from, other than from its simple desire to have such power: the U.S. Constitution gives it the power simply "to regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States,..." Not "within" the States. Period. But of such attempts are slippery slopes made.
Note: This is part of the basic legal argument that has been going on in the U.S. for some time, between 'Federalists' and 'anti-Federalists' - between those who want a stronger central government, lording it over the states & making most socio-economic decisions in Washington, and those who want to keep the federal system of government that is the U.S. system, intact, whereby the federal government is one of limited and delegated powers - "few and defined", in the words of the Father of the Constitution, James Madison; has only those powers specifically ceded to it in & by the Constitution, all others being "reserved to the States respectively, or to the people" (the aforementioned 10th Amendment).
One power, and responsibility, delegated to it is named in Article IV, Sect. 4: "The United States shall guarantee to every State in the Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion..." Which leads to
* Several states are feeling they are being overwhelmed with illegal aliens, and are fretting that the US government is not doing enough about the matter; to the point- as with Arizona recently - that they are starting to consider state legislation to do something about it. Which is within their prerogative, given a fairly legitimate definition of what they are facing and incurring as 'invasion', and with that impact on the services they can afford, etc. But that's not the main point I wish to raise here on this matter. That is that the federal government, in the form of the head of the U.S. Immigration And Customs Enforcement agency (ICE) has threatened not to prosecute illegal aliens caught by the states. And that is raising this general issue, of the power balance between the states and the federal government in a federal system of government, to a serious state of alert.
As well, because
(a) the federal government is hoping that the courts will throw out the states' initiatives, on whatever technicalities they can come up with - including that they don't have 'standing' (which highlights another issue, covered below); and
(b) the specific issue is highlighting a larger one, having to do with a movement amongst revolutionary Mexicans called La Raza - 'The Race', whereby those so inclined are trying to create a state under Mexican control called Aztlan, consisting of a number of the U.S. states in the southwest, including California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, and parts of Texas.
And here the plot deepens.
Because we're talking about, as well, a movement amongst Establishment types - the Power Elite - to dismantle the Constitution, in order to absorb the - former - U.S. into the North American Union region of their proposed New World Order; and so they are happy to have the border issue - both the illegal alien issue and the Aztlan issue - begin to accomplish that dismantling, in order to further their own ends. And they would appear to be willing to let Obama help bring that whole scenario to a head, even though he is of the 'left', and they are of the 'right'. Why? Because the real Power Elite are behind both sides of the stage-front political process; the drama that keeps the public's attention away from who's behind the backstage curtain, directing things.
Consider. Obama's eligibility for the office of the U.S. president is highly suspect (and blatantly unmet, according to the historical and still-legal definition of a "natural born" citizen, which requires the presidential candidate to be born on the soil of parents - plural - who are citizens). His hiding of definitive information about his original, vault-copy birth certificate; his refusal to have his passport information or school records released; his strange Social Security card number background; etc. etc. Do 'you' REALLLY think he could have gotten away with all that if the Power Elite didn't want him in the position he is in, to deliver the U.S. to them in tatters, so that they could remold it into their desired one-world structure? Thus the various lawsuit attempts to bring his eligibility to a court of law, and thereby subject to 'disclosure', have been thwarted, under the technicality of the plaintiffs lacking 'standing'.
Who would have standing? Apparently, the U.S. Congress. The majority of whom are Democrats. And it was their leaders - particularly the Speaker of the House - who signed off on Obama's eligibility to be their party's candidate. Go figure.
What this is all amounting to is great Crisis. Which brings great Opportunity. Which is what the Power Elite are counting on. (Along with their collusion in the financial crisis, which has been orchestrated to and for their benefit - to pick up the pieces after the collapse at bargain prices, literally and so to speak.)
The answer? Since both the executive and the legislative branches of the federal government are culpable - and the Judicial branch has failed to allow justice to be served, so it is compromised as well - The People need to let - demand - an administrator take over the federal government who will (a) honor the federal system, and return it to its true constitutional structure; (b) depose the usurper president (and his court of czars); (c) clean out all departments of the Executive branch, including the placemen of the corporate realm (who have been turning the U.S. government into a form of fascism); (d) dissolve Congress; and (e) call for elections within a time set (say 3 to 6 months). He desirably would also dissolve the central bank/Federal Reserve, and institute a cleanout of the financial system. So that the world is not held hostage to criminal types.
There is another form of 'economics' needed now to be ushered in anyway. One that does not hold people to be chattel, and does not destroy the environment in its mindless pursuit of 'growth' . But first things first.
How to bring 'first things first' about, practically?
Practically, by trusting in Spirit to help inform the process. 'The process':
Obama should level with the American people about his background, in his words, before an official inquiry takes place. And talking about official inquiries, and this cleansing in general of the federal Augean stables:
The public health authorities should share with the public what they know, and when they knew it, about such subjects as the downsides of Fluoridation and vaccines; the Bush administration should share, in their words, what they knew about 9/11 and when they knew it. Likewise the Mossad, and the Israeli government. Likewise the Maurice Strong/George Soros/Al Gore et al 'camp'. There should, in short, be a general purging, by people who need a purging, before Truth and Reconciliation commissions take over, and 'require'/are mandated the space for the truth to be told.
And if the former obviates the need for the latter, so be it. And so good.
Because it's time. It's time for truthtelling, and a Going Up in consciousness across the board. Leaving the basic drama behind, and entering a new phase of life on Earth. One more in alignment with the consciousness of the Creator.
And if you don't believe in such a Being, well, Have We got news for You. Basically, that You and We are One.
Let's stop pretending otherwise. We have other fish to fry, now. So to speak. Perhaps a better way to put it: We have another, higher space to occupy, now. In our consciousness. Where we are closer to the Divine. To our divine natures. As 'spiritual beings having a human experience'. To learn lessons - giving and receiving; now teacher, now pupil.
And then move on.

The Elimination of Profit: It's Time
Nearly fifty years ago, in a less fraught time than now, I was moved to write the following:
'In this year it would appear/Auspicious time has come/for some clear thinking on/the state of the world, and what/can be done about it./I submit that/a society that thinks of such as war/and crime as inevitable, at least/until a further time, is already/well on its way into the dark night/of insanity,/having in the construction/of an artificial atmosphere, built/unintentionally, or not, or whatever combination/lost contact/with the greater reality around/that never sleeping ever presses in/on the so-called private dreams of men./Only with minds free/from the magnets of the moment/can we make/our way out, before it's too late/and many pull more back./To say:/No more money, no more crime./No more laws to break/anyway.'
I went on:
'How do we do it/without profit?/Simple. By installing/a system with no market but a heart:/unobstructed circulation, functioning/not on money, or some similar device/for level differential,/but on golden rule./And there you have your principle,/now man can produce at will,/and abundance/no longer a paradox,/grace without meaning.'
I think there was more; but that's the gist of it. And I reiterate it now, not just because it's time - which it is - and even past time; which it is. But because of one more straw in the wind today. It came in an email from an investigative journalist named Evelyn Pringle ("focused on exposing corruption in government and corporate America"). It was an article, second of two parts, on the drugging of America starting with its children. It said, in part:
"As of 2008, upwards of a million children in the United States - in many cases preschoolers - are on "mood-stabilizers" for bipolar disorder, even though the condition remains unrecognized in the rest of the world," Healy points out. [Healy is Dr. David Healy, a British pharmacology expert and author of the book 'Mania: A Short History of Bipolar Disorder'.]
"But there is no evidence that the drugs stabilize moods," he says. "In fact, it is not even clear that it makes sense to talk about a mood center in the brain."
"A further piece of mythology aimed at keeping people on the drugs," he reports, "is that these are supposedly neuroprotective - but there's no evidence that this is the case and in fact these drugs can lead to brain damage."
I am not sure that he is correct in questioning the idea that there is "a mood center in the brain", though it all may be simply a general effect of the brain damage involved - both before and after such treatment. For there is evidence that children in our 'day and age' ARE suffering from various forms of brain damage. But to treat them with the sort of thing that caused the problem in the first place is - like "the dark night of insanity" that I posited in the above Credo statement of mine of some fifty years ago - madness. And it is a madness that has been caused by one thing: the concept of profit. Which has taken our eye off the ball, of understanding what life is all about- what we COULD be doing with and for each other on this lovely planet we call Earth - and reduced us to acting as though we are mere mortals.
Mortals that have beliefs of various kinds, of something 'other', something larger involved than the simple life experience itself, in and of itself. But not REALLY believing it. Or we would be acting more like it is the truth than we are. And have been, for so long that we have been conditioned by it. 'It' - the "artificial atmosphere" I referred to above. Which has created "magnets of the moment". And the biggest of them all is the concept of profit.
It is the concept of profit that is causing humanity to trash its environment.* It is the concept of profit that drives pharmaceutical companies to look at ways to make money, including creating the very conditions that they will then come up with drugs to treat (as in side effects to other of their products). It is the concept of profit that causes Wall Street denizens to look out merely for themselves - so shortsighted in that pursuit that they would even threaten to bring down the very system that is rewarding them. The gaudy parade of madness goes on.
But not for much longer.
Profit is the Gordian knot of our day.
The answer is, simply, to eliminate it. And it disappears.
Because it is just that. A concept.
A concept that cannot stand against the reality that life has meaning, beyond merely in and for itself only.
And as soon as we start functioning from a space of a little more humility, and live by a sense of gratitude to our Creator for life with meaning, we will have our answer, to all the ills that beset us. And which we have been heir to, for 'time immemorial'.
Until now.
Recognizing, that
it's time.

That life has no meaning BEYOND itself. And so there is no morality, or justice, or standards, except those imposed by the state. Of Mice and Medicine Men
With the Internet signal down in our building today, I was reduced to having to do something else with my Saturday afternoon. But it turned out that I still had access to all of the files in my computer itself. (The science of all this is beyond me.) So, instead of resorting to getting into a pile of other reading in my room (that groan in the background is emanating from my bed - let me explain that. I sleep on one side of my bed, the other side of which is piled profusely with mostly last-thing-at-night reading material: back issues of the daily papers waiting for me to cull from them articles of interest for my files; books, magazines, health newsletters, articles of various kinds that I have downloaded from this material-providing monster that I love dearly, for keeping me in contact at fingertip with the whole world up here in my cave in the north of Scotland), or going down to the Lounge and perusing the daily papers in greater detail (the Guardian in particular is just too damn chock-a-block with interesting stuff. How does your average commuter keep up with it all??), or even, heaven forbid, engaging in a personal conversation (other than under my breath with various commentators in the Guardian, with whom I carry on daily in a range of reactions as it is), I decided to browse through the plethora of files that I have downloaded over the years, for just this sort of time, I realise. And therein hangs a blog.
The file I chose to look at was one titled ‘Horrors of Vaccination’. I don’t recall its genesis; it must have come from one or other of the various health websites I subscribe to, jmmercola or naturalhealth (‘the Health Ranger’) or some such. I had never looked into it before, just took advantage of its offer at the time, to check out ‘on a rainy day’. (It’s actually quite nice outside, with the daffodils trumpeting their presence all over the place. It’s a late spring up here in the north of Scotland, after “the worst winter in 30 years”. So much for Global Warming. I jest. But barely. Another time for that subject.) Now seemed to be as good a time as any. So into it I went. And got deeply in touch with the author’s anger. Which I’m coming down from now, to be able to comment reasonably balanced on the subject matter.
It turned out to be a Google file (a pdf, for those major initiates amongst you), part of their project for going into libraries and downloading anything that had come off copyright. That’s another blog subject. This one is to comment on this file, which turned out to be a book they found in some medical library or other, by one Chas. M. Higgins, self-published in 1920. Its actual title was ‘Horrors of Vaccination - Exposed and Illustrated’, subtitled: ‘Petition to the President to Abolish Compulsory Vaccination in Army and Navy’. It makes interesting reading, if you can stomach that sort of thing. ‘That sort of thing’, meaning, mostly, corruption in high places.
It is the story, from this New Yorker’s point of view (actually, published in Brooklyn), of how ‘the government’ had managed to mandate vaccinations in that day and age, all the evidence of dangerous, even lethal outcomes to the contrary - even at that early time. Chas. starts off by citing the early American political documents, particularly the Declaration of Independence, to make his case for such mandation to be anti-American, being contrary to the spirit of the founding of the Republic, etc. etc. - including citing some court cases where the judicial Powers-That-Be at that time sided with this perspective. And then he gets into the gruesome details of the case, at that time, against this practice. Now, here I don’t want to go into the details of how, perhaps, vaccines are safer than they were at that time. I want to side with him on the fundamental issue, of ‘the people’s’ rights in the matter - as individuals, protected against the swayable will of the majority, by the Constitution. (What protection the individual has on the various state levels I won’t go into here either.)
The gist of my take on this angle of the subject: No one medical-practice school of thought has a right to compel the public to follow their take on the matter of health. Nor does the state have the right or power to force people to follow a particular form of medical care, either for themselves or the children they are the legal custodians of, and whose welfare they are responsible for. If the state says it has a right to legislate regarding infectious diseases, it must assume the responsibility for the downside of any practice it mandates. And the downside of the medical practice of vaccination is considerably greater than either the state or the allopathic medical fraternity or the drug manufacturers have admitted to. Then, and now.
Where did this practice come from? Yes yes, Jenner and cowpox and all that. But (1) the public has been sold a pup about the effectiveness of the smallpox vaccine in stemming the incidence of that disease. Its reduction was more to do with sanitation and hygiene - and its spread was often due to the vaccine itself. And (2) let’s take a look at the rise of the pharmaceutical industry, and the role of special interests in the enthronement of allopathic medicine in the western world.
Long story short: John D. Rockefeller Sr, at the turn of 20th century, saw the immense profits to be made from oil, and oil-based products. The latter of which include drugs. So, as a good capitalist (who felt that “competition is a sin”), he set out to increase the markets for his products. And one thing he did to this end was to put money into medical schools, ultimately to get them oriented towards drug therapy in their training of the ‘new breed of doctors’. So: the early part of the 20th century saw the rise of the pharmaceutical houses. And anything that increased their profits. And the profits of the new medical industry. And if their products and services caused illness, well, that was what they were in business for, anyway; so - what’s the problem?
The problem is an intrinsic conflict of interest. For example. Once one researches what goes into vaccines, one understands that this is a ploy, a way to vector chronic illness into the body, in order to sell drugs for the conditions caused by the vaccines - drugs developed by the very companies that developed the causative agents-once-removed: the vaccines.*
I charge corruption of the western medical-pharmaceutical industry (and its government placemen). If a population is healthy, drug-based medical practitioners and pharmaceutical companies don’t make as much money. So, since the bottom line in capitalism is the profit to be made, the healthier the public is, the less profit there is to be made off them in this sector.
Not good for the economy.
‘They’ wouldn’t do such a thing?
Check it out. ‘It’: the story of western medicine. Seen from the perspective of those who have tried to blow the whistle over the years on its malpractice. Including people from its own ranks. See, for good example, the book ‘Racketeering in Medicine: The Suppression of Alternatives’ by James P. Carter, M.D., Dr. P.H.
And also, in considering the morals of those behind drug-based medicine - what the oil industry is capable of (besides fomenting wars) - consider this story.
Back in the early ‘80s I discovered, through the research of some investigative journalist type (a disappearing species, for the most part, in our current day and age. On purpose, so that the corporate world can get on with their machinations relatively unobstructed. See various stories in the 25 Most Censored Stories compilations), that the reason the electric trams disappered from L.A. and environs was because Big Oil bought those companies out and then quietly eliminated the competition, for the rise of the freeway system and the profitable-to-them (and Detroit, in symbiosis) use of individual cars. The more the merrier. Everybody a winner. Almost.
I grew up in the L.A. area. I can remember, when I was in high school, the efficient use many commuters made of the electric trams, not only to downtown Long Beach but from there to L.A.. Little did I know, then, what all went on in the adult world I was about to inherit...
Which included, coincidentally enough to this particular, medically-oriented blog, the rumors at that time of cancer cures that the public wasn’t being told about.
Naw. They wouldn’t do that. Would they?
Would they??
Yes. Indeed. They would. And have.
And continue to.
But not for much longer.
Because a new era of souls are aging out, now in a position to take over their cultures, and the world, from their elders. Who are certainly not their betters.
Not by a long shot. So to speak.

* Vaccines, besides their antigens - weakened or killed strains of the viruses and bacteria the vaccines are formulated against - contain the likes of mercury and aluminum, as preservatives and adjuvants respectively (the latter being substances which ‘enhance’ the body’s immune reaction, for the propagation of antibodies). The argument against the criticisms of using such a toxic substance as mercury in a vaccine is that it is but a minor amount per shot, and a charge of ‘poison’ needs to be modulated by consideration of ‘dosage’ level. But the proponents of this indiscriminate medical intervention fail to take into consideration (a) individual tolerances, and (b) accumulation. Mercury is cumulative; and, different individuals have different abilities to eliminate it/other heavy metals/toxins. In a nutshell: it can build up. And aluminum is also a toxin; and a particularly virulent one at that. But oh well: you win some, you lose some....(And another adjuvant used sometimes is called, including by various aliases, squalene. Squalene is a substance normally found in the human body. Thus, included in a vaccine, it will tend to initiate an autoimmune reaction, with the body’s immune system attacking its own cells. Go figure.)
They also contain the likes of monkey kidney cells, and human diploid cells (from aborted fetal tissue). These sources can also be contaminated with any viruses in the original cell lines. One example of this feature of vaccines is polio vaccines which have been demonstrably contaminated with SV-40 (simian virus 40), which is associated with various tumors. Another such type of contamination is from the chick embryo cells that certain vaccines are cultured on, eg the measles component of the MMR shot. Those cells can have myelin basic protein (MBP) in them. The human body has MBP also, as the substance protecting the cranial nerve systems (myelin). MBP is MBP; hence, the body can mount an autoimmune reaction to this feature of the MMR. (Studies have even SHOWN antibodies to MBP associated with the vaccine-strain measles virus in the damaged guts of children diagnosed with autism.) And another such contamination to be considered is from the human diploid cells, which could easily contain viruses associated with the likes of leukemia. (All of those contaminants could easily be filtered out of the end product? Not yet have they been proved to be able to be.)
As for this subject of contaminant proteins: Some vaccines contain food proteins, not as contaminants, but as intentional ingredients. Thus all the allergies, up to and including full-blown anaphylaxis, afflicting our modern-day children, and now adults, having grown up through the heyday of vaccines - with the vax schedule more than tripled since the late ‘80s. And with the incidences of autism having done the same thing, in the same time period.
But the unquestioning advocates of vaccination say this is due but to coincidence; that ‘correlation is not causation’.
No. And where there’s smoke, there’s not always fire either. But a prudent society would check such things out, instead of turning their collective backs on the
clear signs of major harm being done by a medical procedure gone horribly wrong.
Or maybe - just maybe - not.

Chas. starts off by citing the early American political documents, particularly the Declaration of Independence, to make his case for such mandation to be anti-American, being contrary to the spirit of the founding of the Republic, etc. etc. - including citing some court cases where the judicial Powers-That-Be at that time sided with this perspective. And then he gets into the gruesome details of the case, at that time, against this practice. Now, here I don’t want to go into the details of how, perhaps, vaccines are safer than they were at that time. I want to side with him on the fundamental issue, of ‘the people’s’ rights in the matter - as individuals, protected against the swayable will of the majority, by the Constitution. (What protection the individual has on the various state levels I won’t go into here either.)
The gist of my take on this angle of the subject: No one medical-practice school of thought has a right to compel the public to follow their take on the matter of health. Nor does the state have the right or power to force people to follow a particular form of medical care, either for themselves or the children they are the legal custodians of, and whose welfare they are responsible for. If the state says it has a right to legislate regarding infectious diseases, it must assume the responsibility for the downside of any practice it mandates. And the downside of the medical practice of vaccination is considerably greater than either the state or the allopathic medical fraternity or the drug manufacturers have admitted to. Then, and now.
Where did this practice come from? Yes yes, Jenner and cowpox and all that. But (1) the public has been sold a pup about the effectiveness of the smallpox vaccine in stemming the incidence of that disease. Its reduction was more to do with sanitation and hygiene - and its spread was often due to the vaccine itself. And (2) let’s take a look at the rise of the pharmaceutical industry, and the role of special interests in the enthronement of allopathic medicine in the western world.
Long story short: John D. Rockefeller Sr, at the turn of 20th century, saw the immense profits to be made from oil, and oil-based products. The latter of which include drugs. So, as a good capitalist (who felt that “competition is a sin”), he set out to increase the markets for his products. And one thing he did to this end was to put money into medical schools, ultimately to get them oriented towards drug therapy in their training of the ‘new breed of doctors’. So: the early part of the 20th century saw the rise of the pharmaceutical houses. And anything that increased their profits. And the profits of the new medical industry. And if their products and services caused illness, well, that was what they were in business for, anyway; so - what’s the problem?
The problem is an intrinsic conflict of interest. For example. Once one researches what goes into vaccines, one understands that this is a ploy, a way to vector chronic illness into the body, in order to sell drugs for the conditions caused by the vaccines - drugs developed by the very companies that developed the causative agents-once-removed: the vaccines.*
I charge corruption of the western medical-pharmaceutical industry (and its government placemen). If a population is healthy, drug-based medical practitioners and pharmaceutical companies don’t make as much money. So, since the bottom line in capitalism is the profit to be made, the healthier the public is, the less profit there is to be made off them in this sector.
Not good for the economy.
‘They’ wouldn’t do such a thing?

And also, in considering the morals of those behind drug-based medicine - what the oil industry is capable of (besides fomenting wars) - consider this story.
Back in the early ‘80s I discovered, through the research of some investigative journalist type (a disappearing species, for the most part, in our current day and age. On purpose, so that the corporate world can get on with their machinations relatively unobstructed. See various stories in the 25 Most Censored Stories compilations), that the reason the electric trams disappered from L.A. and environs was because Big Oil bought those companies out and then quietly eliminated the competition, for the rise of the freeway system and the profitable-to-them (and Detroit, in symbiosis) use of individual cars. The more the merrier. Everybody a winner. Almost.
I grew up in the L.A. area. I can remember, when I was in high school, the efficient use many commuters made of the electric trams, not only to downtown Long Beach but from there to L.A.. Little did I know, then, what all went on in the adult world I was about to inherit...
Which included, coincidentally enough to this particular, medically-oriented blog, the rumors at that time of cancer cures that the public wasn’t being told about.
Naw. They wouldn’t do that. Would they?
Would they??
Yes. Indeed. They would. And have.
And continue to.
But not for much longer.
Because a new era of souls are aging out, now in a position to take over their cultures, and the world, from their elders. Who are certainly not their betters.
Not by a long shot. So to speak.

* Vaccines, besides their antigens - weakened or killed strains of the viruses and bacteria the vaccines are formulated against - contain the likes of mercury and aluminum, as preservatives and adjuvants respectively (the latter being substances which ‘enhance’ the body’s immune reaction, for the propagation of antibodies). The argument against the criticisms of using such a toxic substance as mercury in a vaccine is that it is but a minor amount per shot, and a charge of ‘poison’ needs to be modulated by consideration of ‘dosage’ level. But the proponents of this indiscriminate medical intervention fail to take into consideration (a) individual tolerances, and (b) accumulation. Mercury is cumulative; and, different individuals have different abilities to eliminate it/other heavy metals/toxins. In a nutshell: it can build up. And aluminum is also a toxin; and a particularly virulent one at that. But oh well: you win some, you lose some....(And another adjuvant used sometimes is called, including by various aliases, squalene. Squalene is a substance normally found in the human body. Thus, included in a vaccine, it will tend to initiate an autoimmune reaction, with the body’s immune system attacking its own cells. Go figure.)
They also contain the likes of monkey kidney cells, and human diploid cells (from aborted fetal tissue). These sources can also be contaminated with any viruses in the original cell lines. One example of this feature of vaccines is polio vaccines which have been demonstrably contaminated with SV-40 (simian virus 40), which is associated with various tumors. Another such type of contamination is from the chick embryo cells that certain vaccines are cultured on, eg the measles component of the MMR shot. Those cells can have myelin basic protein (MBP) in them. The human body has MBP also, as the substance protecting the cranial nerve systems (myelin). MBP is MBP; hence, the body can mount an autoimmune reaction to this feature of the MMR. (Studies have even SHOWN antibodies to MBP associated with the vaccine-strain measles virus in the damaged guts of children diagnosed with autism.) And another such contamination to be considered is from the human diploid cells, which could easily contain viruses associated with the likes of leukemia. (All of those contaminants could easily be filtered out of the end product? Not yet have they been proved to be able to be.)
As for this subject of contaminant proteins: Some vaccines contain food proteins, not as contaminants, but as intentional ingredients. Thus all the allergies, up to and including full-blown anaphylaxis, afflicting our modern-day children, and now adults, having grown up through the heyday of vaccines - with the vax schedule more than tripled since the late ‘80s. And with the incidences of autism having done the same thing, in the same time period.
But the unquestioning advocates of vaccination say this is due but to coincidence; that ‘correlation is not causation’.
No. And where there’s smoke, there’s not always fire either. But a prudent society would check such things out, instead of turning their collective backs on the
clear signs of major harm being done by a medical procedure gone horribly wrong.
Or maybe - just maybe - not.

In Our Time
For whatever reason, I'm feeling drawn to comment, now, on the overriding subject of our time. That being the effects of capitalism on life on this lovely planet.
First, the positive: As an economic system, it has provided unparalleled affluence, for some.
But at what price?
Item. I watched a painful video last night, of a young girl with autism. Painful to watch; painful, her life. She can't talk. She can only indicate, in croaky sounds, and tears, and contorted body movements, her painful gut. Having food residue move through her body is obviously excruciating. And the medical profession doesn't want to go there.
Why?
For the same reason that the UK medical fraternity - the medical-pharmaceutical-government complex - demonized a doctor, a gut specialist, who was trying to help such children. Name of Dr. Andrew Wakefield. You may have heard of him. He was recently found, by his medical inquisition board - a body called the General Medical Council - to be "in callous disregard" of the wellbeing of some children with gut damage in a case study, because he helped in a process of investigation of their conditions. Lumbar punctures, and colonoscopies, and such.
Excuse me? In callous disregard of their welfare, by trying to discover the nature and potential cause(s) of their conditions?
I won't draw this story out. The gist of it is that he was demonized because the investigation he instituted threatened to put in jeopardy the government's vaccine policy, by casting doubt on the safety of the MMR (which had been implicated in a number of the cases by the parents). And what has come out, from this whole sorry saga, among other a-ha's, was that it wasn't going to be the vaccine manufacturer that would potentially have to bear the financial burden of a class-action lawsuit. It would be the government, whose public health placemen entered into a deal with the manufacturer to indemnify them from any such a potential outcome. So the government couldn't allow a group of parents to have Legal Aid to press their case, because they themselves could be found to be liable. So a whole host of steps were taken, behind the scenes - including conflicts of interest involving the newspaper editor who commissioned a hatchet job on Wakefield in the first place, and the owner of the paper sitting on the board of the pharmaceutical company involved, and the owner of the medical journal that published the case study, and the judge who threw out the parents' request for Legal Aid, and the government's chief of immunization, and the chairman of the inquisition board, acting as judge and jury in the GMC case -
I could go on. But my specific point, here: is that this whole thing - including all the children, everywhere, who are suffering such pain in association with their autism (let alone the sensory debilitating effects of the autism itself) - is because of one thing.
The concept of profit.
Wakefield was jeopardizing the way things are.
As with the corrupt pushing of vaccines for the swine flu 'pandemic' that never was. And for the bird flu before that. And the pushing of the HPV vaccines, with all of THEIR damnable side effects, including death. And on. And on. And on.
It's time to move into the true new order of the ages, wherein things will be done out of concern for their social benefits. Not out of an attitude of 'what's in it for me'. Or the professed social benefit of, say, a vaccine that cuts the incidence of a childhood disease, but the act of which - for not being either highly effective or true immunisation - just pushes the potential infection up into a later age bracket, when the effects can be more harmful. And besides not being totally effective in the short term, doesn't confer lifelong immunity, with the result that a female doesn't pass that immunity on to her children. Resulting in the likes of babies catching whooping cough, because of the vaccine; not in spite of it.
I draw attention to this matter of the downside of vaccines, in illustrating my point, because it affects the wellbeing of people so directly - in such a harmful way.* Causing the rash of the likes of autoimmune diseases and neurological diseases in our times, as a consequence of a blinkered approach by the medical profession to the prosecution of their profession. And the jettisoning of the basic principle of their profession, of: First, Do No Harm.
The elimination of money, and its driving force, the profit motive, is the paramount issue of our day; with the concomitant understanding, by all peoples everywhere, that 'we are spiritual beings having a human experience': that the universe has purpose, and that purpose is Good. And we will produce goods and services for each other out of gratitude to our Creator for life with meaning.**
Thus will poverty pass out of existence.
And conditions like that of that young girl, in a video on the Internet, rocking, rocking in her chair, suffering from her damaged gut, because, really - beyond the deleterious effects of the profit motive - of one thing:
A misunderstanding about life.
Time now for The Money Age to be released. Before we do any more damage to one another; and to our natural environment.
Given to us to do with it what we will.
With the hope - and trust - that, ultimately, we will lift our eyes, and see the larger picture of our existence.
Which is well overdue, to accomplish.
Or do you REALLY want to live by and with the likes of the sub-prime mortgage/exotic-financial-instruments scam running the financial show, with people making money on the ultimate bubble collapses? Do you REALLY want to be subject to these sorts of people running the world? Who put their self-interest over the needs of the whole? Serve myself, and the devil take the hindmost??
These myopic marauders have been given the rope to hang themselves with - ie, in truth, the gift of free will - and they did. That's their karma, that they will have, ultimately, to work out. Unfortunately (on one level) they nearly took the whole, now-globalised financial system down with them. So We the People will have to pay for their corruption as well.
I say: No more.
I say: I did not incarnate at the time of the trough of The Great Depression - itself as well brought about by schemers - just to go down with everybody at another, and more painful, one, for being so totally globalised, and with so many armies and weapons of mass destruction abounding
I say: We can turn this major Crisis into major Opportunity.
And rid ourselves of the low-consciousness people running the world's show at the same time.
And speaking of, and so to speak:
It's show time.
For humanity to show what they can do, when they really put themselves - to say, body, mind AND spirit - into it.

As we discover more about health and nutrition, we come across more natural treatments for those diseases, which don't have the appalling side effects to them that the vaccines have. And speaking of 'dimensions', in the context of evidences for 'something more than man' - for a greater reality than dreamt of in the materialist philosophy - there is the case being made by physicists, and NDE/OBE returnees, that 'life' is a projection; a hologram; has elements of illusion. Is but one realm of, at the least, more than one. And itself is a Field, wherein everything is interconnected. And so truly, in the words of the poet: "Any man's death diminishes me..."

Scots Ingenuity
John Logie Baird...
The name, come across in a recent edition of The (Glasgow) Herald (date of March 13, I see; it took me some time to catch up recently with my pile of newspapers yet to be read) - heralding an event, called the John Logie Baird Awards, that celebrates current Scottish inventors - has taken me back across the years to my high school days in Southern California. (I am now in my dotage in the north of Scotland.) (Well; not really. The former statement, that is. I can still spend hours reading the papers and following many sites on the Internet, and making sense of it all. ((Trying to, that is. Nothing to do with me.)) I just can't play basketball the way I used to.) I think it was my Junior year, when our school's speaking contest had as its theme the subject of 'biography'. Off I went to my local library to browse on the appropriate shelf, where I first came across this name, and the story of the man behind the invention that was only then beginning to take off in our neck of the proverbial woods. (Our household had a second-generation TV by then, from the very small-screened first of its kind out on the market around 1949, a couple of years previously. Ours was still a small screen, but 'they' had come up with a portable magnifying glass to set in front of it, like a bespectacled scholar's thick lenses.) What a masterful invention.
And it has helped the public gain access to information about the excellent intellectual work of another Scot, with a similar name to boot: that of John Beard. And thereby hangs a blog.
John Beard was a lecturer in embryology at the University of Edinburgh when in 1902 he had published a paper on what has come to be called The Trophoblastic Thesis of Cancer. This is all a little complicated, but the essence of the matter is that he recognised the importance of the pancreas in the developing fetus of a pregnancy in secreting enzymes to help stop the 'job' of some cells, called trophoblast cells, in multiplying and attaching the fetus to the lining of the womb. Invading those cells, precisely like cancer cells do. For - lo and behold - cancer cells and trophoblast cells are one and the same. And thus the similarity between pregnancy hormones and cancer hormones.
Which all started getting recognised over the years of the 20th century, slowly, research step by research step, until a major paper was published in July 1950 - in a journal called The Medical Record ('An International Journal of Medicine and Surgery') - by a father-and-son team, Ernst T. Krebs Sr. and Jr., and one Howard H. Beard. Obviously a relative. And the Krebses honored the work of their 'spiritual' predecessor by conducting their research under the title of the John Beard Memorial Foundation. Out of San Francisco.
I name the location because I visited Ernst T. Krebs Jr. there some years later. In late 1972. By which time I had read enough about cancer and its treatment to know that the public was being led astray from important information about both.
The name of the paper was 'The Unitarian or Trophoblastic Thesis of Cancer'. And what it led to, particularly through this father and son team (the father was a medical doctor, the son a biochemist), was the development of a cancer-fighting substance called Laetrile, aka vitamin B17. Laetrile was/is based on a substance in nature called a nitriloside, which is nature's way of combating cancer. It is found in various sources, but particularly in the seeds of certain fruits - apricots, peaches, plums, apples - and in berries and various grasses. This is the way that animals in the wild avoid getting cancer. And it is why we mammals are coming down with it so much, because the nitrilosides have disappeared out of our western diet to a large extent. The original almond, eg - known as the 'bitter almond' - was high in nitrilosides, but it became bred for a sweeter taste, more pleasing to the palette. But it was the bitterness that contained the operative natural ingredient. Which contains cyanide. Which is what kills the cancer cells.
Selectively. Through a complex, but clear, arrangement of enzymes.* I don't want get bogged down in the details of this matter here. I just want to broach the subject of 'Nature's answer to cancer' - that there is such a thing; and how it has been squelched, by the medical-pharmaceutical complex, employing the government in their destruction of the competition. It is a sorry, sorry tale. And it goes to the main point I want to make in this particular blog.
That being, the difference between the outcomes for the ingenuity of the two similarly-named Scots researchers. In the capitalist economic system, entrepreneurs could make money off John Baird's invention; hence its success. But the Established Order has been threatened by the implications of John Beard's contribution. Hence its burial.
It is part and parcel of the reason why that system has to go. Along with the need to move to a resource-preserving system of social living; not one of constant growth, and planned obsolescence. The planet - mother Earth - needs our undivided attention, now. For us both to survive.
And with the sort of ingenuity that has been demonstrated in the past by the likes of these two estimable Scots, we can do it.
* Briefly: Normal cells contain an enzyme called Rodhanese which neutralizes a substance called amygdalin, thus not allowing it to release the cyanide that is bound up till then. (To the normal cells it only serves as glucose, providing them energy.) In the absence of Rodhanese, the amygdalin is activated, liberating the cyanide radical only inside the malignant cell.

I can still spend hours reading the papers and following many sites on the Internet, and making sense of it all. ((Trying to, that is. Nothing to do with me.)) I just can't play basketball the way I used to.) I think it was my Junior year, when our school's speaking contest had as its theme the subject of 'biography'. Off I went to my local library to browse on the appropriate shelf, where I first came across this name, and the story of the man behind the invention that was only then beginning to take off in our neck of the proverbial woods. (Our household had a second-generation TV by then, from the very small-screened first of its kind out on the market around 1949, a couple of years previously. Ours was still a small screen, but 'they' had come up with a portable magnifying glass to set in front of it, like a bespectacled scholar's thick lenses.) What a masterful invention.
And it has helped the public gain access to information about the excellent intellectual work of another Scot, with a similar name to boot: that of John Beard. And thereby hangs a blog.
John Beard was a lecturer in embryology at the University of Edinburgh when in 1902 he had published a paper on what has come to be called The Trophoblastic Thesis of Cancer. This is all a little complicated, but the essence of the matter is that he recognised the importance of the pancreas in the developing fetus of a pregnancy in secreting enzymes to help stop the 'job' of some cells, called trophoblast cells, in multiplying and attaching the fetus to the lining of the womb. Invading those cells, precisely like cancer cells do. For - lo and behold - cancer cells and trophoblast cells are one and the same. And thus the similarity between pregnancy hormones and cancer hormones.
Which all started getting recognised over the years of the 20th century, slowly, research step by research step, until a major paper was published in July 1950 - in a journal called The Medical Record ('An International Journal of Medicine and Surgery') - by a father-and-son team, Ernst T. Krebs Sr. and Jr., and one Howard H. Beard. Obviously a relative. And the Krebses honored the work of their 'spiritual' predecessor by conducting their research under the title of the John Beard Memorial Foundation. Out of San Francisco.
I name the location because I visited Ernst T. Krebs Jr. there some years later. In late 1972. By which time I had read enough about cancer and its treatment to know that the public was being led astray from important information about both.
The name of the paper was 'The Unitarian or Trophoblastic Thesis of Cancer'. And what it led to, particularly through this father and son team (the father was a medical doctor, the son a biochemist), was the development of a cancer-fighting substance called Laetrile, aka vitamin B17. Laetrile was/is based on a substance in nature called a nitriloside, which is nature's way of combating cancer. It is found in various sources, but particularly in the seeds of certain fruits - apricots, peaches, plums, apples - and in berries and various grasses. This is the way that animals in the wild avoid getting cancer. And it is why we mammals are coming down with it so much, because the nitrilosides have disappeared out of our western diet to a large extent. The original almond, eg - known as the 'bitter almond' - was high in nitrilosides, but it became bred for a sweeter taste, more pleasing to the palette. But it was the bitterness that contained the operative natural ingredient. Which contains cyanide. Which is what kills the cancer cells.
Selectively. Through a complex, but clear, arrangement of enzymes.* I don't want get bogged down in the details of this matter here. I just want to broach the subject of 'Nature's answer to cancer' - that there is such a thing; and how it has been squelched, by the medical-pharmaceutical complex, employing the government in their destruction of the competition. It is a sorry, sorry tale. And it goes to the main point I want to make in this particular blog.
That being, the difference between the outcomes for the ingenuity of the two similarly-named Scots researchers. In the capitalist economic system, entrepreneurs could make money off John Baird's invention; hence its success. But the Established Order has been threatened by the implications of John Beard's contribution. Hence its burial.
It is part and parcel of the reason why that system has to go. Along with the need to move to a resource-preserving system of social living; not one of constant growth, and planned obsolescence. The planet - mother Earth - needs our undivided attention, now. For us both to survive.
And with the sort of ingenuity that has been demonstrated in the past by the likes of these two estimable Scots, we can do it.
* Briefly: Normal cells contain an enzyme called Rodhanese which neutralizes a substance called amygdalin, thus not allowing it to release the cyanide that is bound up till then. (To the normal cells it only serves as glucose, providing them energy.) In the absence of Rodhanese, the amygdalin is activated, liberating the cyanide radical only inside the malignant cell.
