What's Wrong With You People

What's wrong with you people?
We can't be having only
The little people living
By the law, and letting
The big and powerful do
Just whatever they want
To do.
             Sooner
             or later
They will 'do'
To you, too
With that freedom
               of action
           if you don't
Watch out.

Wake up.  You
Are being had
By people who,
                contrary
To all appearances
Mean you no good.
          The ineligibility
Of Obama -
      for pertinent example -
Being in that particular office
Illegally
                   is just
                   the tip
Of an iceberg
That we are about to hit
             square on
             that will rip
The hull of our ship
Of state
Terribly.

Is that what you want?
Then so be it.
                   
Hang on.  It's going to be
A bumpy ride
From here on in

To our intended destination
Anyway.
                Which we
Will make it to
                  regardless
                  of the fate
            of some
On the way.

For God is great
And - better yet -
Good.
                  That
             is to say:
Just.

Merciful, yes.
         But just
Mainly.  Because
There is justice
In the universe.
                To say
Explicitly:
That nobody
Gets away
With anything.
For it is
The Law.

Ours, but a pale
Comparison; yes.
                  But
       nevertheless
Of the same
Intention.
And as is done to the one
                is done
With malice aforethought
To the other.
                       Make
No mistake:
          Big Brother
Is watching
               behind
Our temporal counterpart.

              Now isn't
That smart
               you simpletons
In charge of things
These benighted days…

…where it is all
Recorded.  All
                 a part
Of the record

Of those who tried
To make it to heaven
On their own
                    and be
Gods
Without going through
The Law.
           
              As in the days
