On Setting Things To Rights

If it were up to just me, everybody
Who voted fraudulently
                                  in
The last election
Would go to jail.
But since I believe in the rule
Of law, the rule of law
Will prevail.
So, whatever the law was
At the time and place
Will suffice.
              And nevertheless,
Not my will but Thine
Be done, on Earth
                   as it is
In Heaven.
And, for what it's worth:
And so it would go
                 throughout
           the entire
                  country
           in all manner
          of circumstances
And, as that flag is unfurled
Further, throughout
The world.

                   And make that
             Will.



If There Is No God

If there is no God -
                 to say
No purpose to life
Beyond just in and for itself
                  only -
Then nothing really matters
Anyway, and one
Might just as well live
                 exclusively
For oneself, independent
Of the effect of that pursuit
On others, as not;

But something tells me
That this isn't all
         there is.
And that makes all
     the difference.
