On Liking A Good Joke

There is some evidence in life that God likes a good joke (especially, apparently, when you tell Him your plans).  Take Donald Trump.  No, I don’t mean it that way.  I mean the way that the man goes with the name.

What am I trying to say.

Here’s the gist of a letter that I will be sending to The Donald, when the Main Library next opens (I don’t have a printer):

Dear Donald:

Thank you for bringing up onto the main stage in this country the very serious question regarding Ted Cruz’s eligibility (or lack thereof) for the office of the POTUS.  You are right to question this: for, he is NOT eligible.  And neither is Obama.

The 'smoking gun' is the proposal at the Constitutional Convention during the sweltering summer at Philadelphia in 1787 (when the heat was literally and figuratively on those men, in their nation-creating endeavors) by Alexander Hamilton.  Cruz and his apologists, and specifically legal advisers - like Obama and his wrecking crew, on the other side (purportedly) of the political aisle - try to make the case that there were only two kinds of citizens recognized at the time of the Constitutional Convention, natural born and naturalized.  But Hamilton (for his own personal purposes, undoubtedly) made a proposal that the president need only be, quote, “born a Citizen" - and his proposal was TURNED DOWN, in favor of the more stringent category of citizen, of a ‘natural born’ citizen.

What did they mean by the term?

A ‘natural born’ citizen, according to the definitive tome of their day on such matters, E. de Vattel’s ‘The Law of Nations Or Principles of Natural Law,’ is one born on the soil (jus soli, in legal parlance; meaning ‘of the soil’) of citizen parents (jus sanguinis - ‘of the blood’).  That’s PLURAL.  As in BOTH parents.  The whole POINT of the exercise on the part of the constitutional Framers being to make sure that the occupant of that PARTICULAR office - and that particular federal office ONLY; who would as well then become the Commander in Chief of the nation’s military forces (their key concern) - had NO DUAL OR OTHERWISE CONFLICTING LOYALTIES OR ALLEGIANCES OR INFLUENCES.  Had SOLE ALLEGIANCE to the United States.

I could go on with various historical points of reference, confirming a) their awareness of the de Vattel definition (his treatise was taught in the universities of the day), and b) their intent (including the written advice to G. Washington, in his role as Chair of the Convention proceedings, of John Jay - a respected statesman of the day; and who, not so incidentally, became the first Chief Justice of the new U.S. Supreme Court).  But this is sufficient, I would think, to make my point.  And my further point:

No subsequent court decisions or political acts make any difference to the fundamental fact.  Acts, Statutes, Resolutions of Congress, creative ‘interpretations’  of the Constitution - none of them trumps original intent.  The only thing that trumps ‘original intent’ is a constitutional amendment.  And, some of those were actually attempted, by congressional representatives of both current major political parties (a total of 8 times between them, between 2003 and ’08 alone) - and none of their proposals even got out of committee, such was the sensitivity around this particular issue.  So, what did our two esteemed major political parties do?

Obviously: They colluded.  In an attempt to go around the bulwark of the rule of law in this country - the Constitution.

And they will go down for their conspiratorial efforts to do so, if such be proven.

In any event: I am incensed, even infuriated, at this effort to undercut - so blatantly, and fraught with such consequence, as its attempt to undercut the eligibility requirements for the very office of the presidency of the United States - the rule of law in this country.  But I do understand, that this SORT of shenanigan has been going on for some time.

Well.  No longer.  It has reached its 'natural' stopping point:

At the door of the Oval Office.  And the overwhelming power contained therein.

So - and speaking of ‘trumps’:

My message to you:

Donald Trump:

I urge you: to

SET THIS NATION TO RIGHTS.

Or

You’re fired.

Most sincerely,

…the mischief that people get up to, when they think that no one is looking…...

I don’t know what universe they think they are living in.  But in this universe, there is Justice.  For, the universe has Purpose; and that purpose is Good.

And we are about to find out just how good that can be.

Having had quite enough of finding out just how bad it can get.

When The People lose their vision.

And feel around, like blind mice in a maze.

With their best-laid schemes often going aft agley.

...and speaking of best-laid schemes:

from conservativebyte.com: ‘Is A Revolt of the Generals coming?’ - Lolita C. Baldor, the AP - January 10
(“The public comments by Gen. John Kelly, head of U.S. Southern Command, underscored how strongly the Marines oppose Defense Secretary Ash Carter’s order to fully integrate women into all combat jobs, including the Marine Corps and special operations forces like Navy SEALs and Army Green Berets. A new, high-level disagreement is erupting over whether the Marine Corps must also fully integrate its 12-week recruit training program at Parris Island in South Carolina…”)

..

All orders by Obama or anybody in his administration are null and void, for issuing from an illegal base. Obama is a Usurper in and of the office. The Truth WILL out. And so will the tyrant. Out, on his ear. Into a prison cell, awaiting his day in court. On multiple charges by now. Including fraud, perjury, and treason.

And that ain't no joke.
