Words Of Wisdom

Many moons ago, when I was in the eighth grade, I took part in our junior high school's somewhat annual, but in fact just periodic, salute to our namesake, that being Benjamin Franklin.  The Social Studies classes held preliminary competitions on the general subject of Franklin's life, and the winners of those contests went to the Final, held in front of the whole school.  Being the competitive sort, I engaged in our SS's prelims, and won a place to the runoffs.  I didn't win there; but in the course of the event, I won a lifelong appreciation for Franklin, his life and times, and in particular, his codification of aphorisms.

He didn't come up with (most of) these words of wisdom himself; he just happened to edit a favorite American publication called Poor Richard's Almanack, which gave farmers their information about the moon phases - for planting, etc. - and to fill in around the cracks, as it were, he passed on to the colonists homespun sayings, that they took readily to heart; mostly from English folklore, but as well from our own developing cache of experience.

A stitch in time saves nine.  A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.  Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.  And so forth.

He of course had his own life experience to draw from, and came up with some excellent sayings for any time.  One of his better-known quotes, which has been well used in our time, is: "Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."  (There is some question as to the precise wording; but if the shoe fits…)  One of his better quotes - at least as has been attributed to him; and it certainly 'fits' - I have only just come across; to wit:

"I am a mortal enemy to arbitrary government and unlimited power.  I am naturally very jealous for the rights and liberties of my country, and the least encroachment of those invaluable privileges is apt to make my blood boil."

          

Amen, Ben.1

And case in point.    

"Barack Obama is disarming you and your loved ones so that you'll be little more than defenseless pawns in his push for a Marxist America" says Michael Connelly, Executive Director of the United States Justice Foundation (emphases in original, throughout); going on:

"You see, Mr. Obama has a full statist agenda that he's working hard to implement.  He's made it abundantly clear recently that he will act unilaterally, through executive orders, if Congress refuses to follow his directives.

"And YOUR 2nd Amendment right…is in his crosshairs right now as Barack Obama pushes for a gun-free America.  

"That's why Mr. Obama [Yes, this outfit knows better than to call him 'President'] issued 23 'executive orders' infringing on the 2nd Amendment, following the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings of a year-and-a-half ago2 . . . including turning YOUR Doctor into a government snitch!

"Barack Obama wants your doctor to find out if you have any firearms in your home, then report [the results of] that snooping to a massive government database tracking gun owners -- that will undoubtedly tie into the intrusive  Obamacare database.3

"Mr. Obama has long targeted firearms for extinction, for one simple reason: weapons in the hands of American citizens can thwart his plan to turn the United States into a Marxist dictatorship.

"What's more, he's following the plans laid out by the Bolsheviks in 1918, and by the Nazis in 1938, as they ended private gun ownership just prior to subjugating their people. 

"And that's exactly what Barack Obama is doing right now through his executive orders…."

Indeed.  And thanks for the truth-telling, Michael.

This man is, and his true-believer henchmen are, taking over my country, step by stealthy steep.  No wonder they want - need - to keep guns out of the hands of patriots.  It's coming to that…

I have to trust
                 that
The American
             people
                   will
     see through
This man's lies
And deception.
               'I bleed
                        for
The Middle Class'
My ass.  He's all for
A Welfare Class,
                      one
   obedient to
           his will
And direction.
He needs to be
Shot down
Politically
                for
True Americans
To take over
Once again
Their country.
 Are they
Up to it?
               Time
Will tell.
And soon.
                 Very
Soon
Indeed.

So, which side are you on, America?  Are you on the side of those benighted souls who are trying to turn America into a totalitarian police state, with your erstwhile Masters running your lives to within an inch of them?  Or are you on the side of freedom and the liberty of spirit, to exercise your God-given free will, as 'a spiritual being having a human experience' - NOT just a subject to an all-powerful Elite, who would rule over you like a slavemaster?  It is time to choose.  

And may you choose well.  For, much depends on it.  And not just for yourself, and your immortal soul.  But for the whole of humanity.  

Your brothers and sisters, in this spiritual exercise.  Testing whether you will opt for the Dark side, or for the Light side.  When it all comes down to it.  

'It': the line, between the two fundamental Ways, of being.  Living by the way of Force.  Or living by the way of Love.

Your choice.

Over, and over, again.  Until you get it

Right.

And we can all go Home

Again

And Be

Together

As One.  The One that

We essentially Are

And always have been.

1 And this one: "Freedom of speech is a principal pillar of a free government; when this support is taken away, the constitution of a free society is dissolved, and tyranny is erected on its ruins." 

2 of which no reporters were allowed to see the crime scenes, simply had to take the officials' words for the whole thing.  Including the bodies of the students and teachers.  Of whom there were no survivors, to be rushed to hospital for treatment for their injuries.  And to tell their stories.  Imagine that.

3 Of course.  That's the whole point of a national database of us: to collect such information.  About us free and independent sovereigns in our own right; who should tell our such-inquiring doctors:

     'Um - excuse me?/What business/is it/of yours, Doc,/whether/I've got/a gun/or not.'

     'I have/to ask.  It's/my job.'

     'And I have to say/in reply/that it is my/business/to be/a good citizen/of this country;/which means, in part,/to have the right/to keep/and bear arms/if I so wish;/and you, Herr/Doctor,/can go/straight/to hell.'
