        Ode to

The Constitution

As We Approach

Constitution Day

I want a snapshot

Of just how bad

Things got

When we chose

To guide

By Man,

Not God.

For the lesson

To last us

For a thousand years

At least

             before

The Dark side

             of our

    potential

Is loosed

To test us

Yet once again;

             how

The sicker we got 

The healthier it was

For the economy,

     and all the rest

     of the

   corruption

    with the good

Being sacrificed

To the perfect,

     and the bad

Reigning thereby.

The Constitution -

              for

    good example - 

Being better

Than nothing

           to check

         Man’s 

Seemingly innate

        greed.

       Seemingly,

       that is

       to say.

       As for the

   Constitution:

It got us here

         for this

    New Day.

   And that is

      great.

    Hooray.

      Glory

       be.
