On Being A Slave

Speaking of past presidents/our Forefathers, as I was in my last blog; a comment:

"Our 'Forefathers'
                    were
Slaveholders."
And so, what is
     your pertinent
                   point?
They were men
Of their times,
          yes.  And??
   And they even
                looked
                 ahead
              to better
                  times
                in their
                written
               records
                     left
                behind
         as a marker
                of their
            honorable
            intentions
              to better
                  judge
              them by
   when they laid
                     the
  stepping-stones
      for our times.
           "We hold
         these truths
                   to be
        self-evident:
        that all men
         are created
              equal…"
                    and
              so forth.
      For what
      that's worth
               to you,
      you creature
              of your
            ideology.
