Orpheus, Descending

Something Grecian about this all...

You can't make this stuff up.  The Drama was bad enough, with, e.g., everybody ignoring the definition of a 'natural born' citizen, for their various reasons; as I have dwelt on in these pages before. But now it has descended into Farce.

When FBI Director James Comey - who had ties to the Clintons and their Foundation anyway1 - started looking, as part of his job, into the Clinton emails thing, before the elections, his initial report used the words "grossly negligent" to describe what she had done, in allowing Confidential material to be posted on her unsecured private email server (which, sure enough, subsequently proved to have been hacked into, by, among others, foreign government sources).  An anti-Trump FBI attorney agent, not wanting to give The Donald any ammunition against Hillary, changed the wording to "extremely careless".  Why?  Because - and I am being serious here - the relevant law on such things says that it would be broken if an action taken were of, quote, "gross negligence".

Come again??

What's the difference between...

...oh.  I get it.

'The law.'

Is an ass, sometimes.   Especially as interpreted by shyster lawyer types.

Of which we have had far too many in this country.

And some of which have ended up being appointed to high benches.

Including the U.S. Supreme Court.

But to continue.  And it doesn't stop there.

FBI Director Comey subsequently testified to Congress, on this business, that, though then-SoS Hillary had been "extremely careless" in her action, it would be difficult "to prove intent," and so it was decided not to recommend prosecution.2

But proving 'intent' is not a part of the relevant law.  All it refers to is "gross negligence". If someone were grossly negligent in their actions, ...

...but I am talking here to people of common sense.

Not people who have entered into this Alice in Wonderland realm that our federal government seems to have descended into.

For long enough, now.

1 He was on the Board of Directors of the bank HSBC - which was involved with the whole range of criminality regarding money, including gun running and drug and child sex trafficking (about which, when an honest VP found out about it, was told by the head of the bank's security "This is how we make money.  Forget what you think you have seen") - where he was responsible for 'running money' to the Clinton Foundation.
AG Sessions must be compromised, with all that is going on in the FBI and DOJ on his watch.

2 To the then-AG, Roberta Lynn; who had her own reasons and need for recusing herself from dealing with the matter.
   As I say...
