Do Not Misunderstand Me

In my last blog earlier today I referred to the sort of interpretation of the Constitution that has led to a lot of misery, confrontation, and misinformation in the country.  So I understand where some - actually, a lot - of the error that we are, have been, living under stems from.  But that doesn't mean that I accept it.  My position:

Congressman Trey Gowdy is a fine fellow, and I would want to have him on my team.  Usually.  But he is wrong in one regard.

Out of his passionate love for The Law, he feels that we should abide by the law at all times.  'The law is the law,' as he states the matter simply.  But sometimes, that is not true.  Sometimes, the law is an ass.  And you need to oppose such a law, if it is not actually rooted in the fact of the law, as opposed to the interpretation of the law.  Put upon it by, often, devious-minded individuals, not just the honestly incorrect.

What is the outcome of such thinking as Rep. Gowdy's?

One such piece of poisoned fruit is Roe v. Wade.  Which has resulted in such obscene atrocities as 'partial birth' abortions, all throughout the country.  Live, pain-feeling babies, sacrificed on the dual altars of convenience and money.

Roe v. Wade was just one, but a particularly egregious, example of an error, not just in judicial judgement, but in fact.  In fact, the Constitution gives no such powers to the federal government to make such decisions.  ('My, what big powers you have, Grandma.')   That decision was based on something called - by such learned and august persons as justices of the U.S. Supreme Court (it is to laugh) - the "penumbra" of the law, or "emanations" from the law.  Which was, to put it as mildly as I can, pure poppycock.

The majority of The Supremes were acting under the desire to have a certain outcome in the case, so they concocted a cock-and-bull story to get to their desired outcome.

And I could go on.

About such corrupt matters in our day.

But hey.

The Play is over anyway.

It's time for

the Real Thing.

Where neither moth nor dust doth corrupt.

And just in time, it would increasingly appear.

But that doesn't mean that such matters shouldn't be commented on.

Life being the classroom that it is.

Was.

As graduation looms.

Ready.

Or not.

Your choice.
